Round 3 of ‘IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt’ explore Young Talent in the City of Nawabs ‘Hyderabad’

Aims to develop Iconic Indian Riders for National & International Motorcycle Racing Championship

Hyderabad, August 20, 2018:  Strengthening its feet in its new direction to develop ‘Iconic Indian Riders’ for National & International Championships, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.  moved to Hyderabad for Round 3 of the ‘IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt’, to identify, select and mentor young talented riders to compete in national and international racing championships.

The Honda Talent Hunt aims to identify young talent who wish to enter into motorsports but lack the direction of making a professional entry in it. This first-of-its-kind initiative by Honda provides the appropriate platform to the aspiring racers to showcase their potential and nature their skills in the beginning of their career. From last two rounds in Bengaluru and Chennai, the event saw exceptional talent amongst these budding racers.

The IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt, kicked off from Bengaluru and conducted its round 2 in Chennai. It will further travel to other cities namely- Bhubaneswar, Aizwal (Mizoram), Delhi NCR, Bhopal, Vadodara, Pune and Coimbatore to explore the young talented racers of the country.

The jury in the Hyderabad round consisted of eminent members; Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President- Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, Mr. Koji Takahashi, Deputy Director- Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, and Mr. Ramji Govindrajan, Director- Ten10 Racing.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President – Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “The IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt is a major step towards our new motorsports direction aiming to develop young talent to further represent India on the map of world motorsports. The first lot of six Talent Hunt finalists have already shown excellent performance with Mohamed Mukail, 14-year-old winning the race. We are receiving good response for this activity and are confident of identifying potential talent from across the country.”

IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt- Hyderabad

The Round 3 of the Talent Cup conducted in Hyderabad received a total of 18 registrations ranging in the age group of 12 – 18 years. The shortlisted candidates will be trained at the Honda Ten10 Racing Academy on 27th August further to which the top candidates will get an opportunity to compete in the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup 2018 (Round-4) - CBR 150R Novice category at Madras Motorsports Race Track in Chennai from September 1-3, 2018.

Honda started "HONDA ONE MAKE RACE" in the year 2008, now known as the ‘IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup’. It gives a unique opportunity for racing enthusiasts to gain track experience, taking forward Honda 2Wheelers’s vision to develop and promote motorsports in India.
