Honda signs MoU with Dept. of Science & Technology (Govt. of Rajasthan) for Safety Promotion in Jaipur

Jaipur, January 31, 2013: Setting a new landmark in promotion of road safety as a responsible corporate, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.(HMSI) – the Only 2 Wheeler Company of Honda in India has today adopted its first-ever Traffic Education Park in India by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Rajasthan.
 
Present at the inauguration of the Traffic Park at the Science Centre, Jaipur, Rajasthan were Sri. Pritam Singh – Principal Secretary, Dept. of Science & Technology; Mr. Keita Muramatsu – President & CEO, HMSI; Ms. Lata Manoj – DCP, Traffic Police; Mr. Yadvinder S. Guleria – Vice President, Sales & marketing, HMSI; and Dr. Amita Gill – Director, Department of Science & Technology.
 
Globally, Road Safety Promotion is one of Honda s top priorities worldwide since 1970. Under the “People Come First” philosophy, Honda follows Safety as integral part of all its business activities. In India too, Honda is committed to making Safe Riding an everyday habit of all 2Wheeler riders. Honda operates with a unique “4S” approach where it promotes Safety Riding in addition to Sales, Service & Spares under one roof.
 
The Traffic Park is located inside the Science Park at Shastri Nagar, Jaipur City which is spread across total area of 10 acres, out of which over 3 acres land is dedicated to the Traffic Park.
 
At the Traffic Park, in specially designed, protected environment Honda will promote Road Safety through its unique Lifetime Safety Education starting from 5 years young children to adults with a special focus on new and female riders.
 
Special Primary School activity for children from 5-8 years of age is planned to promote safety among the young ones by making them learn the “fun way”. Honda’s specially imported CRF 50 model will help young minds from 9-12 years understand the importance of safety riding through practical riding experience .
 
Theoretical sessions & riding trainer (also present at every Honda dealership across India), will aid people above 13 years of age to experience over 100 possible dangers on road. This virtual experience increases their ability to predict & react to traffic hazards by creating awareness & knowledge about potential risks & solutions
