Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Company", "HMSI", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protect the security of personal information and safeguarding privacy of Individual (hereinafter referred to as “Data Principal”, “User”, "You", "Your", "Yours"). This privacy policy sets out the details of the personal data/ information collected, the manner in which it collected, by whom as well as the purposes for which it is used.

This Policy is intended to set minimum standard controls with respect to the handling of Personal Information in accordance with the applicable laws, rules and regulations including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.

    If you apply for a job or staffing opportunity through our platforms, you may be asked to provide your résumé and contact details. This information is used to evaluate you for the specific position and may also be considered for other suitable openings within HMSI.

  3. Consent on Use & processing of Information
    1. By visiting HMSI Website/ Portals/ Applications/ Mobile Apps/ Social Media accounts, and or providing your information in any manner, you agreed the processing, transfer and disclosure of your personally identifiable information in accordance with this Policy.

    2. We assure that the Information is collected and stored in a manner, which is appropriate to the nature of the data. Such information may be used/ processed for the following purposes.

    • To provide you with our products and services
    • To communicate with you to respond your queries or complaints
    • To carry out our legal compliance obligation, such as to conduct a product safety recall where necessary
    • To manage your booking, appointment, and maintenance history by us and our authorized dealers
    • To send notifications, promotions, and advertisement to you about current or new products/services of HMSI and Honda Group Companies (including our parent company and other Honda affiliate companies operating within or outside India) which may be of interest to you
    • To conduct marketing and product analysis, market research, and surveys by us and Honda Group Companies

    • To evaluate and improve our products and services
    • To process and manage your payment and any other transactions related to us and Honda Group Companies

    3. HMSI shall follow the applicable laws and regulations with regard to Personal Information. HMSI may not be required to obtain consent or give notice, if the collection or use of Personal Information is necessary for the completion of a contract or business arrangement with you, and you have agreed in advance to such collection or use or due to legal requirements.

    4. HMSI does not sell personal data for independent commercial use by third parties.

  4. Disclosure & Transfer of Personal information
    HMSI may disclose/ transfer your Personal Information to any third-party service provider, where it is necessary to fulfil the service, they provide to us. In that case, HMSI shall ensure that the service provider has sufficient systems, policies, and practices in place to protect your Personal Information.
    HMSI may disclose and/ or transfer your Personal Information to any other Honda Group Companies and our authorized dealers subject to the condition that no personal data shall be transferred to any entity that is not duly authorized by HMSI, and all transfers shall take place through secure, approved systems in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
    We DO NOT use, transfer or disclose Information for purposes other than as mentioned in this Policy, except with the consent of user providing such Information or as required by applicable laws, rules and regulations.
    All cross-border transfers shall be subject to applicable laws and regulations in force from time to time.

    4.1 Cookies
    From time to time, we may use a standard technology called a “cookie”. We use these cookies to personalize content and ads, to provide social media features and to analyze data about webpage traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs.

    4.2 Children

    1. Use by Children or Persons with Disabilities
    We do not directly provide services to children, nor do we intentionally collect their personal information. If a child (under 18 years) or a person with disabilities uses our website, their parent or legal guardian must take full responsibility, including supervising their online activity. We may allow Children to visit our premises for any event or any other reason, with requisite consent from their parent or legal guardian or the supervising authority.

If you, as a parent or guardian, find that such data has been shared with us, you may email us and request deletion. Once we receive the request, we will remove the information from our systems.

    5.1 Retention: We retain personal information provided by you for the period as long as we require it to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected (unless you withdraw your consent earlier) and to meet legal or regulatory requirements or for legitimate business purposes.

    5.2 Suspension: The Company may delete or suspend, use of the Personal Information when the following criteria are met:

    • If the Personal Information is no longer necessary for the purpose, it was collected or used;
    • If the valid period of consent to keep the data has expired and there is not any legal ground to store/ process the data; and
    • To comply with legal retention obligations or in accordance with applicable statutory limitation periods.

    6.1 The Rights to Access Information: At any point you can contact us to request a personal data relating to you that we hold. Once we have received your request we will respond within one month.
    6.2 The Right to correct and update the information: If the data we hold on you is out of date, incomplete or incorrect, you can inform us and your data will be updated.
    6.3 The Right of Erasure or to withdraw: Your consent to the processing at any time for any processing of data to which consent was sought. Subject to applicable laws, you can withdraw your consent by email or by post.
    6.4 Grievance redressal: The right to lodge a complaint to us.
    6.5 Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.

    The security of your information is very important to HMSI & we make our best effort to ensure security on our systems.
    Our Servers/database stores Personal Information in a secured manner with authorized access & safeguard it from loss/leakage, misuse, wrongful disclosure, destruction and alteration.

    8.1 We are not responsible for any accidental loss, misuse, alteration, or unauthorized disclosure of your information that happens during internet transmission.

    8.2 We are also not liable for any loss or damage caused by circumstances beyond our control (such as natural disasters, technical failures, or security breaches caused by others).

    8.3 If any loss or misuse happens because of your own actions (for example, sharing passwords or using an unsecured device), we cannot be held responsible.

    • All email as received on persinfo.grievance@honda.hmsi.in, to be documented for future reference, as may be required by applicable laws.
    • HMSI will notify or inform Data Protection Board of India about the breach of any personal data processed by us where such breach is likely to cause damage to any individual.
  10. Jurisdiction
    The Privacy Policy shall be governed by the laws of India and the Courts at Gurugram, Haryana shall have exclusive jurisdiction in respect of all matters arising out of or concerning or incidental to this Privacy Policy.

    The information, software, products, and services included in or available through this website may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. Changes are periodically made to this website and to the information therein.
