Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India celebrates 11th anniversary of its Traffic Training Park in Bhubaneswar, Odisha

Trained over 3.6 lakh people in Bhubaneswar on importance of road safety since inception
Bhubaneswar, 11th June 2025: Continuing its drive towards safer roads and informed riding, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) celebrated the 11th anniversary of its Traffic Training Park in Bhubaneswar, Odisha in the august presence of Sri Sanat Kumar Jena (RTO-II, Bhubaneswar) and representatives from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India. Since its inception, the park has played a pivotal role in promoting road safety and enhancing traffic awareness among citizens.
In June 2014, HMSI, in collaboration with Odisha Motor Vehicle Department, inaugurated the first adopted traffic training park in Odisha, located in the capital city of Bhubaneswar. Since its inception, the park has become a hub for road safety education- training over 3.6 lakh people across all age groups. The initiative blends awareness sessions with practical riding exercises to help individuals become safer, more alert road users.
For the 11th year anniversary celebration, HMSI hosted a session for the students of Central Tool Room & Training Centre. The session focused on the key aspects of riding discipline and identifying everyday road risks- elements essential to instill road safety awareness. The Traffic Training Park continues to engage learners with hands-on learning experiences that encourage responsible behaviour on the road.
As the Traffic Training Park in Bhubaneswar enters its 12th year, the focus remains on building a culture of safety that grows stronger every year. The aim is not only to increase the number but to deepen the quality of engagement- especially among the next generation of road users. The company hopes to make road safety learning accessible and engaging. With consistent efforts, HMSI hopes to turn awareness into everyday action- ensuring that safe riding becomes second nature across commuters in Bhubaneswar and beyond.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India’s CSR commitment towards Road Safety
For Honda globally, road safety comes first. As announced in April 2021, “Honda will strive for zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles globally by 2050”. Fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (CSR), HMSI has been promoting road safety in India since its start in 2001. Working towards the realisation of Honda’s global safety vision, today HMSI’s road safety awareness initiative has already spread to over 10 million Indians. Its team of skilled safety instructors conduct daily programmes at its 10 adopted traffic parks across India and 6 Safety Driving Education Centres (SDEC).
HMSI dealerships across India spread road safety awareness. HMSI’s proprietary virtual riding simulator increases the risk-prediction ability of riders; while new customers too are given predelivery safety advise (PDSA) before they start riding at every dealership across India.
HMSI also launched its innovative digital road safety learning platform, E-Gurukul, this E-Gurukul platform offers training modules tailored for three specific age groups from 5 years till 18 years ensuring a comprehensive approach towards road safety. Currently the modules are available in multiple languages like Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and English—to ensure inclusivity and regional relevance and E-Gurukul can be accessed at egurukul.honda.hmsi.in. The platform supports live streaming or downloading, and multilingual modules to ensure accessibility across diverse regions. The launch of E-Gurukul is part of HMSI’s ongoing efforts to empower children, educators, and dealers to champion safe road practices.
